Fiery Dusk, Bearded Trees

It is fall in Champaign, and the trees have exploded with colors I had never thought possible.  I kept kicking myself for not going out to shoot, but yesterday the weather after work was just too nice not to go.  We went to a park not too far from our house, and the light was amazing.

A couple of handsome tree specimens.

Rule #1. Never shoot into the sun. Rule #2. Disregard Rule #1.

First time using Photoshop's "Photomerge". This is actually about 12 photos stitched together.

To view the panorama in a separate window (I really recommend it), click here Still, this is only 25% the size of the 16000x2000 image on my computer! The Panorama was fun to put together. There are a couple of spots you can see the "seam", but I think wherever I go from now on, I'm going to try and shoot a couple of panorama shots. They just really help give you context that you can't get without a super wide-angle lens, but without the cost or distortion.

Very nice. Not a lot of that kind of foliage change down in the LC. Really like the sun streaming behind the tree.

Thanks Andy! I can't take all the credit. Mother Nature did most of the work making the setting so awesome.
